Sponsorship

The Newnan Junior Service League (NJSL) has been committed to enhancing the quality of life in Coweta County  through dedicated service, volunteerism, and leadership. Currently, the NJSL is made up of over 90 women who volunteer with  local organizations such as Backpack Buddies, Coweta County Schools, Newnan-Coweta Historical Society, Feeding Our Friends,  Coweta Community Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, and Bridging the Gap. In addition to volunteering in our community, we  also host various fundraising events throughout the year to benefit organizations in our community.

We have four major fundraising events for our year: 9th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot, 16th Annual Shamrock Run, The Legends of  the League Golf Tournament, and The Big Event Gala.

The 10th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot will be held on Friday, October 21st at Blalock Lakes. The Clay Shoot funds our  Christmas in Newnan Program. Last year’s proceeds allowed us to provide Christmas gifts and meals for 75 children and their  families in the Coweta County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) system.

The 17th Annual Shamrock Run will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Our 5K and 10K races are kicked off by our  Leprechaun Dash for the kids. The Shamrock Run is a certified Peachtree Road Race qualifier and USATF course. We welcomed  approximately 300 participants and a new course in 2021.

The Legends of the League Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 28, 2028. In the past we welcomed over 100 participants & sponsors to the tournament.

The Big Event is always a fun celebration.  Please join us on February 4, 2023 with food, fun, and festivities.  Let us raise a glass to another year of service for  our community.

All of our fundraisers will be promoted via the NJSL website, social media platforms, promotions, events, and advertising  through various media outlets, including 92.5FM The Bear & The Newnan Times-Herald. The Shamrock Run will also be  promoted on Active.com and Run & See Georgia.

Last year, NJSL chose 180 Degree Farm as our grant recipient. With proceeds from our 4 fundraising  events, along with support from generous sponsors like you, we were able to present then with a check  with  a check for $25,000. We also presented five $1,000 scholarships to Coweta County high school seniors. If the last year hasn’t been challenging enough, our community was hit by an EF-4 tornado on March 27, 2021. We launched our Newnan Strong hat campaign. With proceeds from our Golf Tournament T-Shirts, Newnan Strong Hats, and other generous donations, we were able  to raise $10,000 for the Coweta Community Foundation for disaster relief.

Our 2021-2022 grant recipient is 180 Degree Farm which was established in 2009 as a working farm, dedicated to feeding  cancer patients organic, nutrient dense foods. Their primary focus is to provide free food through their Food Fight Program,  enabling cancer patients access to free organic fruits, veggies, eggs and more. They teach classes to the community to discuss  the dangers in our current food system and how to source clean, chemical free, nutrient dense food. Project Season Extension  Greenhouse is the initiative for the 2021-2022 grant. 180 Degree Farm is requesting a new heated greenhouse to extend their  growing process across all four seasons, which would provide year-round food for their cancer patients.
