For 97 years, the Newnan Junior Service League (NJSL) has been committed to enhancing the quality of life in Coweta County through dedicated service, volunteerism, and leadership. The NJSL is made up of over 60 women who volunteer with local organizations such as Backpack Buddies, Coweta County Schools, Feeding Our Friends, Coweta Community Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, and Bridging the Gap. We host fundraising events throughout the year to benefit organizations in our community and administer a scholarship program for deserving young women in Coweta County who plan to further their education upon high school graduation.

We have two major fundraising events coming up this Spring: The Legends of the League Golf Tournament and The Big Event.

The Big Event is a fundraising casino night with a Mardi Gras theme in celebration of our 97 years of service to Coweta County. We hope you and the rest of the community will join us on Saturday, February 10, 2024 and help us celebrate another year of service for our community.

The Legends of the League Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at White Oak Golf Club. This will mark the 4th year for this growing event. We welcomed over 100 participants & sponsors in 2023.

All fundraising events are promoted via the NJSL website, social media platforms and advertising through various media outlets, including 92.5FM The Bear & The Newnan Times-Herald. 

Last year, NJSL chose More Music Foundation as our grant recipient. With proceeds from 4 fundraising events, along with support from generous sponsors like you, we were able to present More Music Foundation with a check for $15,000. This donation will allow the foundation to provide music education programs to local, at-risk youth. Additionally, we presented three scholarships totaling $15,000 to female high school seniors.

Our 2023-2024 grant recipient is Coweta Samaritan Clinic. Coweta Samaritan Clinic offers free primary medical care to uninsured residents of Coweta County who meet established income limits. The clinic would like to purchase a portable x-ray machine to better serve their patients with dental needs. This machine will allow the clinic to assist in prioritizing patients’ dental care.
