Mission Statement: The Newnan Junior Service League (NJSL) exists to enhance the quality of life in Coweta County through dedicated service, volunteerism, and leadership.
Currently, the NJSL is made up of over 90 members who volunteer a minimum of 50 hours each year to local organizations such as Coweta County Schools, Newnan-Coweta Historical Society, Feeding Our Friends, Backpack Buddies, Coweta Community Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, and Bridging the Gap.
We host a variety of fundraising events throughout the year to raise money to benefit organizations in our community. We have our Sporting Clay Shoot in the fall to raise funds for Christmas in Newnan, which provides Christmas presents and food to underprivileged families in Coweta County. We organize the annual Coweta County Can-A-Thon, which supports the Coweta Community Food Pantry. Our major spring fundraisers are the ShamRock Run, a Big Event, and our Masters of the League Golf Tournament held to support a specific cause each year.
We also have a scholarship program, which aids Coweta County ladies in their pursuit of a higher education. The scholarship program is partially funded by sales of our award-winning cookbooks, A Taste of Georgia, Another Serving, and Simply Southern.
